Loose Cuts
Round Satie, Plucked Unplucked
Round Satie was created for the centenary of Erik Satie’s death, extending Édouard Ferlet and Violaine Cochard’s piano-and-harpsichord partnership with violinist Jean-Marc Phillips-Varjabédian and soprano Valérie Gabail. Its three Loose Cuts comprise new versions of the Second Gnossienne and the opening part of Socrate, followed by “Strike the Viol in Asturias”, which brings Purcell and Albéniz into the same piece.
