The Chopin Project

Kurt Rosenwinkel & Jean-Paul Brodbeck

Composer
Chopin
Released
2022
Label
Heartcore Records
Forces
Guitar, Piano, Quartet
Personnel
Lukas Traxel, Jorge Rossy, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Jean-Paul Brodbeck

Brodbeck began working on the arrangements after hearing an old cassette of Chopin that had belonged to his father.

Rosenwinkel’s electric guitar often takes the singing line normally associated with the piano, while the quartet leaves enough space for the source music to loosen into collective improvisation.
