- Dario Savino Doronzo flugelhorn, Pietro Gallo piano, with Michel Godard tuba and serpent on three tracks
Italian flugelhorn player Dario Savino Doronzo has said that classical works are too often treated as untouchable objects of reverence. In ReimagineDuo, his instrument takes the singer’s line while Pietro Gallo’s piano opens the score to jazz improvisation.
Michel Godard joins them on tuba and serpent for three tracks, adding a bass voice to the otherwise spare duo. His own Fruccia d’ali closes the album after seven new readings of Italian opera and song.
