Behind the glossy title is a pianist with a much tougher jazz pedigree: Faraò spent time in Archie Shepp’s quartet and later toured with Joey DeFrancesco.

Here his trio moves from Handel and Mozart to two of Chopin’s most physically demanding études without disturbing the album’s relaxed surface.
