The musicians on Classic on Jazz were students at Warsaw’s Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, trained principally as classical players. The project was created to discover what that training could bring to a jazz orchestra.

Recorded in the university’s own Studio S1, it also involved a professor and students from the sound-engineering faculty. The album was therefore a conservatoire project from bandstand to control room.
